James Harder is a fifth generation resident of Blacksburg who is running for the Virginia House of Delegates to give back to his community.

James has always had a passion for public service, learning what it meant to serve a community by watching his grandmother, Joan Munford, represent Southwest Virginia in the House of Delegates for over a decade. After graduating college, James worked for U.S. Congressman Rick Boucher on constituent outreach and legislative issues. Currently, James is a PhD student at the Center for Public Administration and Policy at Virginia Tech.

When he is not on the campaign, James and his wife Nancy are raising their son Cole to love music, the outdoors, and the Hokies.
